Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Grandiose nose, with that classy signature that comes from an ideal balance of botrytized and raisined fruit; sumptuous length; flawless oak. Excellent work! 18

Michael Schuster: Turbid gold; fresh and lemony and mineral to smell; rich, unctuous wine, intensely sweet, very complex, with a vital supporting acidity; long and vivid, and minerally in the mouth, tight and aromatic and very long to finish. Very classy Lafaurie, exciting long-term Sauternes. 2016–30+. 17.5/18.5
