Michael Schuster: Dark, narrow rimmed, youthful red; relatively closed to smell still, but dense and rich with ripe mulberry fruit – a very fine bouquet promised; concentrated middleweight with a brisk acidity and very fine, dry tannin; briskly sweet fruit, a gentle complexity, long and lively palate and with good, gently fragrant length. A tautly defined and linear, rather than a particularly rich or fleshy expression of Cheval. Very good rather than great. 2012-25+
