Michael Schuster: Very dark, narrow rimmed, mahogany red, early maturity to look at; dense, sweetly ripe merlot nose with a hint of caramel, roasted warmth, and a lovely suggestion of ‘fruit’; very nicely balanced, rich and fleshy middleweight with a lively acidity and silky tannin; deliciously seductive core of freshly ripe fruit, warm, spicy, long, subtle and graceful across the palate, gently mouthcoating, reflecting the ‘merlot-caramel’ and ‘roasted’ character of the bouquet, and with a gratifyingly long, warmly spicy finish. Hugely seductive, a wine giving enormous pleasure already but with decades to go. Now-2025+
