Tim Atkin: Dense, rich color, youthful for 2006. Lovely, youthful, aromatic nose. Orange-peel nose, almost floral, lovely use of oak. Possibly some Cabernet here, a hint of gherkin, very sweet oak, but a polished style, lots of alcohol and oak, but enough sweet plum and blackberry fruit to balance it; good acidity and impressive length. Modern style. 5–10 years. 18.5

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry, in a modern style. Intense, extracted, in a closed stage for the fruit, but with a long expressive finish with solid but finely textured tannins that make it more enjoyable than other examples of the same style. 15

Alex Hunt: Very fragrant, herbal, piney nose. A cool, taut, linear style of Ribera, at the far end of the stylistic spectrum for the region, but a successful expression of its own terroir. Very mineral, backward, almost austere on the palate, yet well constituted and with enough cassis fruit to balance. This is likely to evolve very interestingly. 17
