Tim Atkin: Deep color, more concentration than [2000 Vega-Sicilia Único]. More complete, firm, very Bordelais in style, quite a bit of oak, a little drying on the finish. Possibly some Cabernet here. A very serious red but just drying a little. Not convinced this will age. 17

Jesús Barquín: Very deep cherry, somewhat evolved. The nose shows a spike of oxidation, as if of candied fruit, that disconcerts a little. The palate is better, complex and serious, with serious fruit, though also with a warm alcoholic note and oak needing integration. 15.5

Alex Hunt: Marvelously alive nose, with ripeness expressed as peaches, slightly reductive, rather than heavy, oxidative raisins. A nod to Bordeaux here, at the highest level. The palate is slightly leaden-footed and alcoholic in comparison to the effortlessly lovely nose. But overall this is a really beguiling, complex, sensuous wine. 17
