BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby/purple. Touch of development at rim. Aromatic, very pure nose, savory and complex with toasty oak undertone. Spicy, white-pepper notes on the palate that are almost Syrah-like, beautifully woven into the wine. Medium-bodied style, with freshness and delicacy and length. Classic modern Ribera, with fine, tapering tannin and lovely, silky balance. Very complex. Drink young. 18.5

Jesús Barquín: Medium to deep cherry. Somewhat closed, tight, a tad rustic on both nose and palate, but at the same time showing sufficient stuffing underneath and a solid structure of good tannin and balanced acidity that promise a good future in bottle. 14.5

Alex Hunt: In a slightly closed phase, with ripe-summer-berry-and-cream aromas. The palate is brisk, led by acid rather than tannin, with good purity and length. Not a showy wine, nor terribly complex, but elegant, balanced, and convincing. 15
