Tim Atkin: Some development, but still a deep color. Super-high alcohol, rich, slightly pruney—a little dry? Some acidity here, but the fruit is a little dead and starting to fade. Dry tannins. Porty, sweet finish. Very little Ribera character. 15

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. Powerful and modern, with better balance than most similarly styled wines: very (not over-) ripe fruit, obvious but balanced alcohol, fleshy, good structure that would benefit from a little extra acidity (but it is not heavy). A remarkable wine anyway. 16.5

Alex Hunt: Super-ripe fruit, but not raisined; more berry compote and cream. Full and opulent on the palate. Not exactly refreshing, but nor is it dried out and overly alcoholic. There is still some mineral vigor here, if not the greatest complexity. 15.5
