Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: With 62% Cabernet Franc, Lafleur is a highly unusual wine in Pomerol. The genius of its fine gravel terroir is magnificently expressed this year: the wine has sparkle and unrivaled aromatic freshness, and it impresses with its never-ending length and silky mouthfeel. Yet another unforgettable Lafleur. 19.5
John Gilman: Lafleur is an almost miraculous 13.5% ABV this vintage and is probably destined to be the wine of the vintage as a result. The wine displays classic structure and absolutely brilliant potential as it soars from the glass in a stunning melange of black raspberries, plums, bitter chocolate, a great base of soil, woodsmoke, a touch of game, fresh herbs, and a gentle base of new oak. On the palate, the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex, and intense, with a rock-solid core of fruit, a very impressive signature of soil, ripe substantial tannins, tangy acids, and a huge, long, nascently complex finish. This will take a long time to come around but should be absolutely monumental at its apogee. 2025–2100. 19.5
Michael Schuster: Rich and dense, slightly herbal Cabernet Franc character to smell; rich, elegant, firm middleweight, with a vigorous acidity, concentrated in its fragrance, as well as its delicately expressed fruit; ripe, vivid, strongly mineral-infused, raspberry-fruited elegance; very gravelly, very tenacious, and with a terrific fruit-and-mineral-perfumed length. A typical Lafleur blend of power and delicacy, along with a defining 2010 sinew. 2025–45+. 18/18.5
