Tim Atkin: Youthful purple/violet. Very young for a 2007. Lots of primary fruit on the nose, with plenty of oak, too. A tad dry on the palate? Fresh acidity, but the oak is just a little too intrusive. Sweet fruit underneath adds another dimension. 16
Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. Modern and extracted, but fruit-driven. There is serious substance here, and though the palate is somewhat tight with tannins needing some polish, there is good balance and future promise. Among the best of the wines in a more international style. 15.5
Alex Hunt: Aromatically, this finds a very nice line between ripe berry fruit and rhubarby Tempranillo freshness. Plump on the palate, with no excess of tannin, and good energy for the medium term. Just slightly dusty on the finish. 14
