BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Attractive ruby/garnet. Developed bonfire nose. A little too developed on the palate? Touch of wild strawberry and tomato skin. Grainy tannins; appealing, if a little forward. Medium-bodied, appealing. Drink now to three years. 17

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. Too extracted and dominated by oak, with even a green note. Lacking balance. 12

Alex Hunt: There is real interest on the nose, but it’s straying a little too far into volatile-acidity territory, and the oak is rather pungent, too. The palate is enormously powerful and tannin extraction mercifully restrained. But this is already quite soft and developed, for relatively early drinking. 14
