BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Super-dense color. Nose a little blocky and closed. High alcohol, with some reduction and a faintly confected note. A little plummy? Okay, but the fruit is rather simple here. Tannic finish, with alcohol in evidence. 14

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. The nose offers atypical paprika notes, roasted coffee, solid structure, quality tannins. A good wine; powerful but restrained. 15.5

Alex Hunt: Very ripe fruit if not soupy on the nose. The palate, confusingly, offers copious green notes alongside this jammy fruit. Not the focus or harmony here that there might be, despite the good structural balance. It comes across as sweet and sour. 12.5
