Stephen Brook: Gold. Spicy, flamboyant oaky nose, with stone fruits and a hint of barley sugar. Fairly rich, spicy, and oaky; has flair and vigor, but there’s also a hint of alcohol. Moderately concentrated, but it’s also exuberant and energetic. Quite a puppy for a ten-year-old Sauternes. Not especially profound or complex, but well made and balanced, with just a trace of bitterness (that’s actually quite bracing) on the finish. Quite long. 16.5
Margaret Rand: Powerful, intense, youthful, lovely orange-peel fruit; very harmonious, structured, powerful, and sleek. A well-honed, well-toned wine. Fine detail and some minerality. A fair bit of alcohol on the finish. Very impressive, and will last for years and go on improving. Still quite tight. 18.5
Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; light, mature, waxy nose; elegantly balanced, concentrated, lively middleweight; very sweet, long, quite complex palate, aromatic, gently minerally, and with fine length. Still an attractive freshness in maturity here. Ready; very good. 17
