BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Medium straw. Dumb nose, with some sulfur. Medium-bodied, distinctly sweet, with candied orange-rind flavors. It’s fairly one-dimensional, with little depth or complexity, but it’s attractive and fresh. Overall, a bit lazy, with some texture, concentration, and weight, but not quite enough to give the wine a strong personality. Nor does it seem that structured or persistent, though the finish is tangy and lively. 15.5

Margaret Rand: Roasted, confit fruit, harmonious, very good concentration, tight and sleek. Nice texture and detail. Very long, fine, concentrated finish. A very good wine indeed, everything in the right place, very confident and with plenty of elegance. Will develop very well. 17.5

Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; fine, complex nose, subtly waxy; rich, fairly concentrated wine, with a fresh acidity behind the sugar. Intensely sweet, quite refined if not particularly complex flavor, and with good, light length. Good without being special. Ready; to 2020+. 16
