Andrew Jefford: Pale silver-gold in color. Intriguing, non-fruit aromas at this stage, though you feel that the fruit will unfold with time. Drily reserved, but pure: nothing ominous. Some cream and white mushroom: The juice has been well educated. Give it time. On the palate, it is pure and long without huge width and dimension: a cautious wine, but built on high-quality raw materials, and vinous to finish. Perhaps a little early-picked? 14.5
Jancis Robinson: Very pale. Tense and fresh. Floral and quite delicate and precise. Not showy but very restrained and quite tense. Still youthful but promises well. Not bone-dry. Drink 2012–15. 16.5
Anthony Rose: Pale in color, clean and fresh, with a delicate smoky touch of oak, this is a finely textured and richly concentrated, zingy fresh Chardonnay, with superbly seamless peachy fruit flavors supported by nutty oak and, in considerable degree, the complexity of lees-stirred barrel fermentation. It’s an intense wine of great length, with a concentration of fruit and freshness that bodes well. Subtle, finely balanced, and complex. 18.5
