Andrew Jefford: Full gold. Attractively ripe, lush, engaging, and buttery, but with the warm melony fruit filtering through the aromatic profile like sunlight through forest branches. Pretty, complex, come-hither scents, which immediately suggest this distant southern place rather than any other. The palate is rather juicier, fresher, and slighter than the aromas suggested; exuberant, acid, yet ripe-fruited, though without a lot of vinosity or secondary development. Tangy finish in which acidity is all too apparent. Good but not yet fine. 14
Jancis Robinson: Aromatic, almost grapey on the nose, then a bit dull and too introvert on the palate. Hard work! Then rather watery on the finish. Drink 2012–14. 15.5
Anthony Rose: Pale in color; an attractively rich yet fresh nose on this Chardonnay, with a sweet nutmeg-and-cinnamon spicy rice-pudding-and-apple-pie element to the aromas; the fruit is vivid, pure, and vibrant, not especially complex, but it doesn’t matter in the context of a very appealing wine with an underlying nutty element and a really attractive creamy, soft texture. A very appealing, vivid, bright Chardonnay, with a textural quality and lots going for it. 17
