Andrew Jefford: Full mid-gold; sunny. Rich, warm, inching toward the sweeter end of the lactic spectrum, and the lemon butter, and the peach from midsummer. A pleasant varietal wine, but without great subtlety; exuberant and full-flavored. 13.5
Jancis Robinson: Mid-gold. Sweet and herbal on the nose—not very new style aromatically. And a bit heavy on the palate, too. Lacks a bit of definition and crispness. Surely quite mature? Rather a beery finish. Drink 2009–11. 15.5
Anthony Rose: A deepish yellow in color, this shows notes of grilled nut and honey on the nose; the palate is rich and starting to develop nicely, displaying a ripe peachy fruit quality underscored by a buttered nut oak character, with fresher acidity than you might surmise from the relatively advanced color and honeyed aspect. Almost Burgundian in style; there’s a textured quality to the fruit that’s very attractive. 16.5
