Tim Atkin: Some development: garnet/ruby. Aromatic, in a ripe way, but showing floral, almost violet-like notes, with some tobacco and pepper. Zinfandel meets Aglianico? The result is rather nice: good grip and tannins, but with sweet, raspberry, and tobacco flavors in support. Will age for another five to ten years 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, nearly opaque. Licorice and spice, together with fruit on nose. Juicy—indeed, slightly fruit-juicy—palate; acidity a bit low, tannins a little bitter. Oak comes through on the finish 13.5

Bruno Besa: Black core to saturated rim. Open nose, with mature black and red fruit, yet a bit vegetal. Unbalanced palate, with excessive tannins. A difficult wine to drink 13
