Tim Atkin: A little developed for a 2009, possibly, but nice, figgy, ripe aromatics. A hint of pepper and some sweeter Asian spices. Rich, savory, quite demanding tannins, but they are nicely folded into the wine. No obvious oak; just ripe, sweet fruit. Very attractive, with acidity lifting the finish and giving it length 16

Nicolas Belfrage: Nothing wrong with color or nose, though the latter is a little neutral. Damsons and red berries on palate, with firm acid backdrop and some hardish tannins; touch of bitterness. Not brilliant now, and I’m not sure it’s going anywhere 11

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Fairly developed spicy nose, with clean personality and mature red fruit. Medium body, with very good tannic structure well supported by the compact cranberry-like fruit. Quite long and very clean. A traditionally crafted wine with great personality 16
