Tim Atkin: Despite the hefty, macho bottle, this is an impressive wine. Modern, concentrated, yet well balanced, with attractive red fruits, polished tannins, well-integrated oak, and the structure to age. Lovely, silky, elegant, yet still has the guts and backbone of a good Aglianico. Should age further 17.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Mid-depth color, slight oranging. Nicely developed black-cherry fruit on the nose. Quite lip-smacking fruit on the attack, perhaps a touch high in acidity, giving it a slightly metallic ring on the mid-palate. Lively, but a bit sharp, though should keep well. Tannins are plentiful and reasonably mature but with a slight green hint. This is the final impression as the wine goes down. Drink now and for five years at least 15
