Nicolas Belfrage: Very deep, with minimal orange on rim. Pungent fruit, ammonia and floral hints on nose, quite complex. Also oak. Unashamedly modern style but doesn’t lose sight of its roots. Lovely sweet/Porty finish of length, with good acidity and ripe tannins. Not the most typical, but very good wine. Drink from 2014 - 17
Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Muted nose, with lurking plummy fruit. Very rich, svelte, concentrated, and tight, with fine acidity as well as ripe tannins. This has vigor and a certain grandeur, with real presence and weight of fruit. Lush and hedonistic but also has the structure to age. Already shows a truffley complexity. Worryingly delicious for a young Barolo! 17.5
Jancis Robinson: Blackish crimson. Pretty volatile. Big and thick and sweet without too much precision. Bit of a blob. Still a bit raw and rhubarby. Sudden finish. Drink 2014–20 - 15
