Nicolas Belfrage: Slightly less evolved than [Paolo Manzone Barolo Meriame]; very quiet on the nose. Has charm and character but lacks potency. Still, nicely balanced, acidity and tannins in place, herbal and subtle on finish. Good if a bit underwhelming - 15

Stephen Brook: Deep brick red. Rich meaty, leathery nose: damsons and Indian spices. Has an engaging aromatic lift. Sleek attack, concentrated but not too assertive, deft and lively. Tannin and acidity dominate the mid-palate, but then the fruit comes through again on the finish. It’s admirably concentrated without straining to impress. This seems harmonious and expressive, and it’s stylish, too - 17

Jancis Robinson: Blackish ruby. Light and very fruity nose. Quite open and relatively loose and fruity. Not the most typical Barolo, and very forward and sweet, but perfectly comforting to drink. Drink 2012–18 - 15
