Nicolas Belfrage: Attractive royal-maroon color. Another example of a wine made from excellent fruit not living up to its potential—acid a touch too low, fruit concentration good (not overdone), tannins right on. Potentially excellent wine that doesn’t quite make it, but perhaps it will! (I wish it had sharper acidity.) Drink from 2012 for 10 years - 15.5

Stephen Brook: Deep brick red. Dumb nose: hints of plum and tar. Medium-bodied, supple, easygoing, reasonably concentrated, and fresh. There’s a welcome tightness on the mid-palate, along with a certain reticence. It’s good without being exciting or dynamic, and a tad more concentration would have helped. Quite good length - 14.5

Jancis Robinson: Dark, bold, sweet, and a tiny bit dangerous—that is, ripe rather than fine and tense. Just seems to lack a bit of tension, as though served too warm. (I’m assured it was stored just like its neighbors in the tasting.) Just a kick more freshness would do no harm. Drink 2014–20 - 15
