Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish, with rim. Some pleasant volatility on nose: blueberry or cranberry. Good concentration of fruit compromised by lowish acidity, which leaves a hollow note in the mid-palate. Or maybe it hasn’t come together yet, since the basic components seem fine. Obviously made from high-quality fruit; hasn’t hit the heights it might have. Drink from 2014 - 14.5
Stephen Brook: Very deep plum red; some brick tones. Rich cherry, plum, and marzipan nose, clafoutis, cloves. Rich, succulent, concentrated, with admirable density and grip. The acidity is quite assertive, but the fruit copes with it effortlessly; tannins also are ripe and not too dominant. A spicy, peppery finish keeps it lively. A complex, balanced, and intriguing wine with a long life ahead of it - 18
Jancis Robinson: Blackish crimson. Sweet and Porty on the nose. Coconut cream. Most unappetizing! Too sweet to refresh. Then very green and drying on the finish. Picked too ripe? Such a trial to taste! Drink 2014–16 - 12
