Nicolas Belfrage: Mid-depth color. At first, a musty smell, but it could be the glass. Nose not particularly notable. Palate an improvement. Good fruit of red-berry style, gripping but not tough on tongue; good lateral and terminal acidity. Aromas are red fruit and herb. Good intensity and length, sweet fruit on finish, drinking early: 2013+- 14.5:
Bruno Besa: Brick, garnet core to tawny rim. Open, mature nose, with clean, spicy character: tar, rose petals, Bing cherries, and hits of cinnamon and cloves. Medium to full body, with classic Nebbiolo tannins, prunes and Bing cherries, and a long, clean finish. A traditionally crafted Barolo, with great personality- 17.5:
Jancis Robinson: Mid-ruby, with a pale rim. Very clear. Restrained autumnal nose. Very pure aroma. Bone-dry and enticing, with tarry lift on the finish. Very classic, though cuts off a little suddenly. Whistle clean, though. Drink 2014–20- 17.5 :
