Tim Atkin: Deep ruby red. Lovely, perfumed, complex nose of spice and pepper and bacon fat. Great palate, too. Almost a Gramercy Cellars style. Fine and textured, well balanced. A New World style but filtered through an Old World approach. Deliciously nuanced, long, and complex 18.5
Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sweet, gamey, minty nose; very ripe without being jammy. Fresh attack, with lively acidity hitting the palate at once. Certainly rich and with some discernible alcohol, yet there’s a lightness of touch that gives it more finesse than most. This sprints along the palate, supported by ripe tannins as well as the acidity. For medium-term drinking. Peppery and long 17
Alex Hunt: The nose is ripe yet gently fragrant, with apricots and heather. Disjointed acidity unfortunately dominates the palate, leaving insufficient room for the fruit to bloom (as it were) 14
