Alex Hunt: Plushly floral nose; not overtly oaky but more Bordeaux in feel than Loire. The palate too has a creaminess and a tendency toward blueberry fruit that suggests warmer origins, but the acidity is very bright, and the wine ends on an intense sour-cherry note, which brings it back to its roots after that misleading initial impression. An interesting mixture of flavors here and very unobtrusive tannins- 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Cabernet Franc shows its oak easily, and it’s still evident here, though it adds to the charm of the raspberry fruit rather than obscuring it. Vivid, fresh, lively, oakshaped, though without the fat, the extractive depth, or the finishing minerality of the best wines of this subregional grouping- 14
Simon Larkin: Not as deep as the preceding two in this flight. The nose immediately signals a higher proportion of new oak in the wine’s élevage. All vanillin-scented berry fruit. Similar characters on the palate, with a glossy nuance. Scented cherry fruits, with a creamy coating and a rasping acidity make for an ungainly, poorly knit impression. Lacks harmony, seemingly disjointed- 11
