Alex Hunt: A strange nose—though quite attractive —recalling wine gums in the way some Chilean wines do, albeit to a subtler extent. Very leafy on the palate, and a slightly overextracted feel, without the fruit promised by the nose. On the hollow side, therefore- 11.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark red-black. Lots of predominantly ripe redcurrant, but there is a little herbaceousness here and a lack of broader aromatic richness. I’m afraid that this wine, for me, fails the full ripeness test. It’s grippy, with slightly raw green acidity but little inner wealth, richness, or resonance- 10
Simon Larkin: The appearance might suggest slightly greater evolution; the nose, too, with a sweetscented sous-bois fruit. The palate shows a savory accent, leafy, evolved berry fruit, with a lively acidity still present and darting. Certainly evolved, but it seems very taut, and the acidity is on the cards to outlive the fruit. Gaining complexity, but a very lean interpretation, with a long, savory finish- 12.5
