Alex Hunt: An odd nose: heady with fruit and alcohol if you really concentrate, but otherwise quiet and neutral. In the mouth, structure dominates: Alcohol, tannin, acid, and sweetness are all apparent, and the flavor rattles around loosely in the middle. There is a lot of wine here, but not much cohesion - 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. Spicy and warm: plenty of top-quality oak here, with the wine filling the pores. Dense, deep, rich, and weighty—far more weighty than any Chilean wine we have tasted—with great generous dollops of plump black fruit, of beef jus, of sweet suet, of spice; and with plenty of tannic support, too. This is an exuberant, life-enhancing, and mouthfilling red that I challenge anyone not to enjoy. It’s just a little bit skulking; probably a bottle best broached over two days. “Harmony” wouldn’t be an appropriate adjective, either. But fantastic extractive qualities - 17.5
Jancis Robinson: Very dark. Rather furry nose, with very sweet palate. Not refreshing! And a rather tart oak influence on the finish, too. Extreme wine! Too sweet for my taste. Drink 2014–18 - 16
