Alex Hunt: In this company, the nose seems a bit light and green. The palate has some lively blackcurrant fruit and good poise but also an angularity that clashes with the very sweet fruit. It doesn’t really feel like a harmonious whole - 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. Sweet, plummy, deep, shatteringly ripe but without ever being overripe; this has got classic Pomerol or new-wave St Emilion appeal. On the palate, it is rich, deep, and warm, with enticingly soft textures. There isn’t even a single berry in here that wasn’t perfectly ripe; it is fine wine, but fine wine doesn’t really come much more easy-drinking than this. The tannic structure is very light and graceful; such complexity as the aftertaste holds is the pleasure of feeling those ripe fruits compost down into an agreeable soup on your tongue. I suspect it would taste very sweet alongside European peers, though that is a reflection of the style of the fruit rather than an insinuation of residual sugar - 15
Jancis Robinson: Very dark purplish crimson. Really rather sophisticated, well-developed, subtle bouquet. Rich, lively with really interesting, well-balanced fruit. Both fruit and minerality. A certain inkiness on the finish keeps it lively. Very clean, bracing finish. Drink to 2019 - 17.5
