Alex Hunt: Decadent fruit-compote-and-cream nose leads to a surprisingly finely tuned palate—acidity is even on the high side— but there is succulence here and otherwise exemplary balance and purity - 16

Andrew Jefford: Saturated dense red-black in color. Exuberant, vivid: dark fruits shaped by sweet oak. Attractive and beguiling. Lots of oak and tannin textures lead to a palate that is simultaneously sweet (from the oak) and dry (from the effect of the tannins). The overall effect is a little indigestible. But this is nonetheless a vigorous and concentrated wine of great gastronomic force, and tannic wealth of this order remains extremely unusual in the southern hemisphere. Good to very good - 15
