Tim Atkin: Mid-plum/purple color. Heftily oakdominated nose. Very aromatic, but this is closer to an (overoaked) Rioja than a Galician red. Mid-weight, lots of oak, and with a dry finish. The oak seems confected here 14

Jesús Barquín: Medium cherry. Intense but refreshing, with a hint of orange peel that makes it extra-persistent, though it perhaps ends up overpowering. A red of character, though in this case of a different kind than that of most of the other wines 15

Simon Field: A striking nose of Parma violet and blackberry leads to an attractive palate, the aromatic indulgence not translated to overbearing flavors; on the contrary, the palate has a fine, elegant personality, with red- and black-berried fruit nicely entwined, then balancing acidity and a good finish 16
