Tim Atkin: Mid-straw. Developed, slightly flat nose with a little spice, but the flavors seem a little beery and fruitless. Bitter twist, decent acidity, but not a lot else 13

Nicolas Belfrage: 1 = color of water and 9 = deep gold: Col 2. Somewhat uneventful on nose but redeemed on palate with complex flavors (no doubt from various grape varieties balanced by good firm acidity. A slightly honeyed (though dry) flavor predominates 14

Alex Hunt: Developed and rather flat in aroma; something both rubbery and resinous here. The palate confirms: Orvieto can be much prettier than this. This is phenolic and aggressive and is also tiring, tasting of straw before its time 13
