Tim Atkin: Dense, youthful for 2007. Massive wine, complex, spicy, masses of flavor. Lush, plush, sweet fruit, good acidity. Understated oak. Sweet middle, with notes of licorice and tar. Savory tannins. 2–5 years- 17.5

Alex Hunt: A good balance here between fresh black fruit and savory aromas; closed at first but impressive depth. Elegant, peppery, blackberryish palate; neat and eminently drinkable. A very classy wine- 16

Anthony Rose: Good intense color and lovely spicy aromatic quality; attractively intense blackfruit quality, with classic cool-climate pepper and spice and a seductive juiciness of texture with lovely dark berry-fruit freshness; very well-made cool-climate-style Syrah- 17
