Tim Atkin: Super-dense color. Big, bold style, touch of reduction. More Aussie in style, masses of sweet fruit, but also a ton of oak. Just a bit too much oak? Good acidity. Needs time. But dense, spicy, and showing potential. Give this 2–5 years. Possibly young vines but bags of potential- 17

Alex Hunt: Attractive dark fruit on the nose, with a certain amount of new oak. A blockbuster style, relatively speaking, with appreciable alcohol and concentration, but actually deftly balanced, with a keen edge- 15

Anthony Rose: Deep youthful ruby in color; attractively spicy and aromatic; good concentrated, intense black fruits, with a touch of bittersweet chocolate; nice balancing savory acidity and succulent tannins in a wellcrafted Syrah that needs food- 16
