Tim Atkin: Rich, concentrated color. Some reduction, masses of sweet, slightly confected oak on the nose. Charry, slightly dry tannins. Dry finish, chewy. Way too much oak. Really good fruit but marred by reduction and oak. Dry finish- 14

Alex Hunt: Curiously medicinal, strongly clove/ menthol aroma. Very thick-textured palate, with soft, pasty tannins, seemingly low acidity, and this peculiar aromatic layer on top. If the palate were lighter and more poised, it could harmonize better with the unusual but attractive aromas in the wine. As it is, it feels rather grafted on- 14

Anthony Rose: Deep-colored; sweet mint and paprikasmoky and rich on the nose. This is richly concentrated, intense Syrah, with a pungently smoky-oak element to the dark fruits flavors; there’s lovely fruit purity and richness here, a powerfully intense almost mocha-like fruit quality, and a seriously spicy element, with fine tannins and acidity; deeply satisfying stuff- 18.5
