Tim Atkin: Deep color. Very youthful. Lots of primary fruit on the nose, if a little pruney and late-picked. Palate better, with more acidity than the nose would suggest. Touch of cork here, subduing the fruit on the first bottle. Tannins a little dry and clunky. The wine doesn’t quite come together in the glass. Some reduction- 14
Alex Hunt: Attractive plum jam nose—ripe but not baked—sadly clouded by excessive reduction. Quite intense yet delicate in the mouth, gently spicy and aromatic, but a slight off-note, too- 14
Anthony Rose: Deep-colored, ripe, and sweetly pruney on the nose, with a licorice spicy veneer; tad reduced, with lots of concentrated, ripe sweet dark plum and prune-like fruit, with supple, rich-textured fruit quality and almost enough supporting acidity for the quite firm, dry tannic backbone. But the balance is a tad awkward- 15
