Nicolas Belfrage: (cc: water-pale = 1; deep gold = 9) cc2. Bready, biscuity aroma. Searingly dry—more so than any other wine so far, including from Italy. Doesn’t follow the previous one well but ultimately much more interesting, with accent other than on sour acidity, on herbal, floral, mineral elements. Definitely a shellfish wine: oysters, lobster. Once attuned to its sour-apple character, you quite get into it. Less of a New World style; more Alpine- 15.5
Marcel Orford-Williams: Bready, yeasty, very dry, full flavor. Good attempt at Pinot Gris in a more Germanic style. Good length, too, but not much fun- 14.5
Joanna Simon: Very pale. Honey and fresh apples on the nose. Dry honey, Brazil nuts, and minerals on the palate. A dry, fresh wine of mediumweight and convincing acidity. Just slightly phenolic and no great complexity, but dry, clean, with some expressive minerality; well balanced- 14.5
