Richard Mayson: Similar in color to the Malvedos but slightly less crimson on the rim; closed, with a suggestion of heat (burned rubber) on the nose. (The heat of the vintage is at its most evident here, but it may be just a phase in the wine’s evolution.). Rich, quite full, and fleshy for Dow (3.3° Baumé), firm peppery tannins leading to a big peppery finish. This will be very impressive. Drink from 2020. 16.5
