Andrew Jefford: Lemon-gold. Very attractive aromas of bread, butter, and honey: a snack in scent alone. Rich, warm, expressive, and you have the sense that the honey itself is floral, as if the bees had been out in the fynbos. A lovely wine to smell, with ample charm. On the palate, this delivers pretty much everything the nose promised: a wealth and structure of flavor, which is attractive and (I’d guess) terroir-sensitive, plus a perfumed fullness of flavor, almost a sweetness of flavor, which is nonetheless dry at the end and would be food-friendly. Very attractive white wine, and a wholly successful white blend and wine of place. Bravo! 94
Andreas Larsson: Light golden nuance, still youthful with some CO2 present; pure and fruity nose with some nutty notes, honey, and stone-fruit. The palate is well rounded, it feels rather Chenin-like with crushed nuts and honeyed fruit, medium weight, and quite unctuous texture, rather ripe fruit but well-preserved freshness, pure, generous, and long-lasting aftertaste. 87
Jancis Robinson: Quite dark coppery gold. This smells quite evolved and heavy. Some sweetness and a rather indistinct set of aromas in which the Chenin and Sauvignon seem almost at war with each other rather than complementing each other—each bringing a different sort of acidity to the blend. Slightly sickly finish. The fruit seems past its initial freshness. Drink 2014–15. 86
