Andrew Jefford: Full gold. Rather a heavy, dank nose by comparison to the most graceful of its peers. On the palate, this is much less interesting than the Swartland benchmark; those dank notes persist. Presumably earlier picked and with some sort of fermentation issue? Not a success, alas, though drinkable in certain contexts. 79
Andreas Larsson: Quite wild and funky on the nose, in a positive way: rather natural/non-interventionist style, with some development/slight oxidation. However, the taste is bright and fresh, with a clear mineral notion, giving a lift to that baked, honeyed fruit; it has very good extract and spine, as well as a very long and embracing finish—character, for sure; complexity, for sure. 90
Jancis Robinson: Deep copper. An intriguing nose, and this four-year-old white is by no means old. It’s perhaps just a little flat on the end but delivers herbal and fruit flavors you don’t find anywhere else. Tangerine, a little tangerine peel, plus blossom. On the way down—losing freshness of fruit—but not a disaster. Drink 2012–15. 88
