Andrew Jefford: Saturated, dense black-red. Broad and enticing to begin with, with some oak-sweetening adding a sensual note to the meaty yet accessible black fruits. After five minutes, by contrast, the oak seems to lord it over the fruit a little. On the palate, it is deep, soft, and very classy: lots of pencilly refinement and cigar-leaf richness; perfect ripeness to the soft black fruits.
