Andrew Jefford: Very promisingly saturated black-red. There is a little leafiness here, but within the vintage cohort this is still an outstanding wine, with very fine lifted billowing black fruits. It has outstanding concentration of blackcurrant, plum, and damson fruit on the palate—and that is the alpha and probably the omega of its appeal, with the leafiness a whispered rumor, though there is adequate backing depth and texture. Very showy fruit for the vintage, and a wine whose appeal is still very primary, and which will therefore age well through the medium term. In the long term, though, the acids will win out over the tannins. 2018–26. 91
Michael Schuster: Fine, sweet, cedary, refined, and complex nose; rich middleweight, finely, firmly tannic; brisk Cabernet flavor, quite chewy tannins, moderately complex, good light length; needs time, will be good, rather than special for the cru. 2024–32+. 90
