Andrew Jefford: Saturated dark black-red. Spicy and engaging—it’s the oak handling that takes front seat in the aromatic profile at this stage, but in an unvulgar manner befitting fine Bordeaux; there is sweet, soft black-cherry fruit beneath. The palate is generous, soft, open, admirably teased toward full ripeness, with poised blackcurrant supported by gentle textural wealth; that legendary friendliness of Lynch-Bages is amply to the fore here. Super wine but not one to mill many adjectives over. Satisfaction! 2018–26. 92
Michael Schuster: Tight, dense, brisk, sweetly ripe Cabernet to smell; medium to full wine, with an attractive fine, firm, chewy tannin texture; an abundance of fruit within the tannic frame, but nothing coarse here, a very satisfying, gently muscular, taut, flavory Pauillac with a fine complexity and excellent aromatic length. Fine Lynch-Bages. Very good already, with food, but much better with time. 2022–35+. 92
