Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red in color. Just a little sinewy and dry aromatically, without evident sweetfruited warmth; an elderberry hint. Classic claretty aromas, nonetheless. On the palate, it is rather lower in acidity than some of its peers, smoothtextured, with a quiet and developed fruit core; a wine which already seems to be marching on toward mid-life. Admirable ripeness and warmth, nonetheless. Slightly more exciting aromas would win a higher score here. 2018–23. 89
Michael Schuster: Youthful, closed, cedary nose; medium-full, moderate concentration, elegant, finely tannic, nicely balanced; long, gentle, graceful in flavor, a nice aromatic complexity, with good, sweet-cored length. Fine St-Julien. 2021–35+. 90
