Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red. Warm, fragrant, lifted blackcurrant-and-oak: smilingly appealing. On the palate, this is soft, fresh, open, and classily flavored; it has all of the classic Léoville Barton accessibility and drinkability. On the fruit-ripeness register, though, we are just a couple of notches beyond cool; there’s no warm roar here at all, and little sense of complexity in the offing. A deftly proportioned wine whose principal appeal is delicious, classic, claretty fruits. 2018–26. 91
Michael Schuster: Closed and tight to smell; medium-full, fresh; nicely concentrated, finely tannic; classy, elegant, refined St-Julien; cedary, savory, close-knit, and graceful, sweetly ripe blackcurrant flavor, gravelinfused, long on the palate and to finish; fine Léoville Barton, with less tannic muscle than is often the case. Class, length, scope, lack of excess, really lovely wine. 2022–40+. 93
