Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. This is quite a rich, beefy nose for a Margaux: plum fruits with a saltmarsh backdrop. Generous and uninhibited. Soft, rich, earthy, smooth, and ripe, with lush blackcurrant, elderberry, sloe, and plum. Well, it may not be the most classical Margaux of the flight, but this is a terrific 2012—for the Haut-Médoc in general, and it gets well beyond some of the raw, tart acidity that holds a lot of the Margaux wines back. An exuberant, generous Prieuré-Lichine. 2018–25. 91
Michael Schuster: Ripe and faintly leafy at once; mediumfull, fresh, lightly tannic; sweet in flavor, slightly dry wood-tannin, but Margaux finesse, gently complex and aromatic, and with nice length; stylish Margaux in the modern vein. 2022–32+. 90
