Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. Impeccable aromatic refinement as ever from the outperforming Rauzan-Ségla: a cashmere scarf in which human warmth and traces of fine cologne linger over a base line of dark, fresh blackcurrants and a few firm plums. In the mouth, the wine is soft, elegant, very delicately fleshy, choice, and nuanced, with perfectly judged ripeness and an aromatic refinement that almost no wine in the commune can match (though Cantenac-Brown comes close this year). A fine mid-term Rauzan- Ségla. 2018–28. 92

Michael Schuster: Austere and backward on the nose; full, concentrated, crisp in acidity, firmly tannic; plenty of flavor, sweet and juicy, but all within a firmly tannic frame; lovely sweet fruit persistence, but needing plenty of time. Satisfying, fine Margaux in a slightly more solid style. 2026–40+. 92
