BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Very dense, vibrant, youthful purple. Fragrant, floral, violet-scented. Masses of fruit. A huge mouthful of fruit. Sweet oak, textured, yet firm and youthful. Very modern style. Needs 5+ years in bottle. 17

Alex Hunt: A jelly-fruit character, decent acidity, but overall on the simple side. 12

Anthony Rose: Dense, youthful ruby, rich, sweet, cassis-like nose. Similarly on the palate, a wine with lots of sweetly ripe, opulent cassis and blackberry-fruit flavors, good fresh acidity, finely wrought oak, and supple tannins. Overall, nicely balanced and drinkable, without veering into the Porty style. A seamlessly attractive red whose vivid fruit opulence is really rather lovely. 17
