Tim Atkin: Faintly muddy. Closed nose, with some oak in evidence. Palate better. Quite low-key. Refreshing acidity, picked at lower ripeness for more finesse. Quite Italianate in style, like Achaval Ferrer. Good length. Should develop over the next 2–5 years. 15.5
Alex Hunt: Slightly dumb nose, but attractive aromas of blackberry and spice. The palate shows delicious, juicy fruit-compote flavors but also a lot of alcohol, which lasts longest on the finish. 13.5
Anthony Rose: Nice, fresh, vivid, elegant Malbec aromas, very well crafted with plenty of juicy, sweet mulberry-fruit flavors; supple, approachable tannins; a touch of spicy vanilla oak, and juicy fresh acidity. A very approachable, typical Argentinian style that may not be huge or impressive, but just has really elegant, approachable red fruits and balance. 16.5
