Tim Atkin: Youthful purple/violet. Big, ripe, oaky nose. Ultra-ripe flavors. Tannic, drying fruit. Angular acidity on the finish. A bit overripe and Porty. Simple fruit. 9
Alex Hunt: Quite fresh fruit on the nose—currants and berries. Supple tannins, soft texture. Very agreeable, if lacking in drama. 13.5
Anthony Rose: Fine, dense, rich ruby hue, with brooding but fresh and perfumed, fine, richly concentrated dark-berry-fruit flavors of mulberry and damson with concomitant fresh acidity and tannins. Judiciously applied lightly spicy oak, as well as a good, firm backbone to ensure a good life of up to five years and maybe more. 17.5
